Welcome to Support Partners!

Having a Support Partner can make a difference.

Support Partners is a program for people with depression—and the people who care about them.

Whether you think you may have depression, or are watching someone you care about struggle with the illness, you need not feel alone.

Support Partners offers a step-by-step guide to help people with depression and their loved ones work together to make getting better possible. You will learn about how to:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of depression
  • Find and work with a doctor
  • Start a conversation about depression and support
  • Create a Support Partner relationship
  • Keep track of progress

Support Partners also offers information especially for women with depression. Ages and Stages helps women understand how their experience with the illness can change throughout their life. On this site, you can also learn how to include your dog in your support network. Simply visit the "Canine Companions" section of the site, or click here.

An important step in getting help for depression is going to see a doctor. It is with them that you can talk about medicines and talk therapy. Also, getting practical and emotional support from people who will be your Support Partners is a good step. You will have a better chance of getting and staying well if you connect with others and talk about your depression.
